Alessandra Calvani was born in Rome in October 1966. An architect, she is passionate about “total design”. In spring 1998 she took part in an exhibition on Italian Design at South Orange University, New York. She also exhibited with success at the September 2001 and January 2002 editions of the international salons Maison et Objet in Paris and Pitti Immagine Casa in Florence.
She takes part twice a year in the international exhibitions Première Classe in Paris and Cloudnine in Milan, both devoted to fashion accessories.
She creates her lines of jewelry following a well-defined project of composition, as though they were small architectural structures. Up to now, passing from one material to another with extreme self-confidence and amusement, she has been developing and moulding various lines of jewels which are immediately recognizable in their geometric structures, choice of materials, cutting and well-defined lines.
A studied choice of materials, a use of industrial manufacturing techniques such as the laser cutting of methacrylates and metals, precisely conceived projects, an elegant play of colours and the recovery of a wholly Italian craft tradition are the hallmark of Alessandra Calvani, who reveals her creative talent in a mixture of Architecture, Fashion and Design.
