Alessandra Calvani nasce a Roma dove si laurea in Architettura.
Nel 1997 crea il marchio Alessandra Calvani Design per la progettazione e produzione di gioielli contemporanei.
La creazione dei bijoux di Alessandra segue un preciso progetto compositivo che trae spesso ispirazione dai dettagli architettonici fotografati negli anni e che, come veri e propri ”appunti visivi”, divengono il primo passo verso la realizzazione delle forme dei suoi gioielli.
Il processo progettuale prosegue poi con lo schizzo su carta e la ricerca dei materiali più adatti a realizzarlo, come le lavorazioni industriali dei metacrilati e dei metalli tagliati con il laser.
I gioielli di Alessandra Calvani sono facilmente riconoscibili per le loro geometrie caratteristiche, per le linee precise dei tagli, per i colori armoniosi ed equilibrati, che li rendono piccole strutture architettoniche da indossare.
Il brand è distribuito negli shop di musei, nei design e fashion stores in Italia e all’estero.

Alessandra Calvani was born in Rome where she took a degree in architecture.
In 1997, she created her brand Alessandra Calvani Design, to design and produce contemporary jewellery.
Alessandra’s jewellery is created following a precise compositional design that often takes inspiration from architectonic details photographed over the years and which, like true “visual notes” become the first step towards fashioning her jewellery.
The design process continues with sketches on paper and research on the best-suited materials, such as the industrial working of methacrylates and laser-cut metals.

Alessandra Calvani’s jewellery is easily recognised by its geometric nature, the precision of the lines cut and the harmony and balance of colour, which make her pieces of jewellery little architectonic structures to be worn.

The brand is distributed in museum shops and design and fashion stores in Italy and abroad.
